RERA – Don't raise maintenance fees without approval!

The Real Estate Regulatory Agency (Rera) has told developers not to increase or modify service charges on their property without the regulator's approval.

"Rera has received a lot of complaints regarding master developers increasing service charges without being transparent about it," Rera CEO Marwan bin Ghalita said in a statement. "We are in the final stages of creating a single system to calculate service charges." This step will be implemented as part of the Strata Law No27 of 2008, Rera said.
